Performance Mainsail |

For those who demand the very best sail shape possible in a mainsail engineered to go around the world. Composite materials and sophisticated construction provide initial performance comparable to pure racing mainsails combined with a dramatically improved shape-life in comparison to Dacron construction. Structural durability is absolutely not compromised. Standard batten structure includes a full-length top batten, though additional full length battens can be added for additional structure and durability. Composites of polyester, Pentex®, Spectra®, Vectran®, or other high modulus materials are used for exceptional shape-holding. The shape allows sailing into a higher range of wind conditions before reefing becomes necessary. Panel layout and materials limit stretch to minimize heel and help maintain control in breeze. Larsen mainsails are built to take on the most ambitious sailing plans with ultra wide horizontal seams joined with a combination of adhesives and triple-throw stitching, oversized corner reinforcements, reef points, extra layering, reinforced batten pockets, webbing and proper reinforcement throughout. Every construction detail is executed to the highest possible standards. |
